Introduction and Guide Scope
The Ninja is one of the most unique and versatile classes in Ragnarok Online, offering players the freedom to specialize in powerful magic, swift throwing skills, or melee combat with deadly evasion techniques. Unlike traditional classes, Ninjas rely heavily on agility, mobility, and skill-based gameplay rather than brute force, making them both fun and challenging to master. This guide is designed to help both new and returning players level their Ninja efficiently, providing insights on builds, equipment, and leveling spots suited for different stages of progression.
Stat Breakdown
STR – Increases melee/range physical attack (ATK) and carrying capacity.
AGI – Increases attack speed (ASPD), Flee rate (dodge). Allowing fast attacks and high survivability by dodging hits.
VIT – Increases max HP, HP recovery. Essential for surviving higher-level mobs and bosses, especially for Magic and Throwing builds that need to tank some damage.
INT – Increases magic attack power (MATK), max SP, SP recovery. Directly increasing spell damage and SP pool.
DEX – Improves hit rate. Boosts shuriken, kunai, and other ranged damage
LUK – Increases critical rate, perfect dodge, and a little ATK/MATK. Not really needed for the Ninja Class.
Sample Stat and Skill Build
Physical, Throwing Stat Build
Throwing Ninjas → Focus on STR/DEX (damage and Hit Rate) + AGI (spam speed), with some VIT.

Skill Build:
Use Throw Kunai and Throm Huuma Shuriken for leveling.

Magic, Ninpou Stat Build
Magic Ninjas → Focus on INT + DEX (for faster casting), with some VIT.

Skill Build:
For single target leveling, use Flaming Petals, Freezing Spear or Wind Blade. Use the approriate monster weakness element.
For mobbing and aggressive monster leveling, use Blaze Shield, Exploding Dragon, Snow Flake Draft and First Wind.

Gears
Equipment is not the priority when leveling to 99 because the free equipment in the New User Box is sufficient even until your mid leveling journey after advancing to Kagerou (level 100+).
Nice to have
Equipment – Catherina Von Blood, Ridword Hat, Bravery Bag, Ancient Morroc Shawl and Experience Shadow Gears (Beginner’s, Rookie).

Consumables – Premium Buff Box, Kafra Buff Box, Battle/Job Manuals for that additional experience boost!
If you are having Mana issues, you can go to Geffen and buy Blue Herbs /navi geffen_in 76/142.

Leveling Guide
For a smoother experience and clear direction while leveling, use the World Bounty Quest which is repeatable.
My way, use Alice Mercenary Scroll from New User Box:
Levels 1 – 15: Poring, Lunatics, Fabre, Willow, Spore
Maps: prt_fild08, pay_fild08, pay_fild01

Levels 16 – 30: Zombie, Pirate Skeleton, Poporing, Familiar
Map: pay_dun00

Levels 31 – 45: Orc Warrior, Orc Lady, Orc Baby
Map: gef_fild10

Levels 46 – 55: Orc Zombie, Orc Skeleton, Drainliar
Map: orcsdun01

Levels 56 – 70 (up to 80 if there is Exp Boost Event): Zenorc
Map: orcsdun02

Levels 71 – 99: I use World Bounty Quest.
70 – 80 Juno Field 08 (yuno_fild08)

80 – 90 Juno Field 04 (yuno_fild04)

90 – 95 Glastheim Underground Prison (gl_prison)

95 – 99 Veins Field 07 (ve_fild07)

Tips:
1. Use your Alice Scroll from your New User Box for that AoE damage. This is applicable from levels 1 – 70 because your Alice mercenary will have a hard time doing one shot damage from monster level 70+.

You can use the ROGGH Mercenary guide to setup Alice’s attacks here: Mercenary Based Leveling Guide
2. If you are going the Magic path for Ninja, get your Blaze Shield skill for mobbing monsters.

3. Use your Cicada Skin Shed Skill for dodging monster physical attacks.

4. Mana is not really a problem because of the Ninja Mastery passive skill. This skill helps you to recover mana while sitting and not moving.

Closing Remark
The Ninja class offers one of the most exciting and versatile playstyles in Ragnarok Online, whether you prefer the devastating spells of a Magic Ninja, the swift precision of a Throwing build, or the agile survivability of a Melee/Evasion path. By understanding stat priorities, choosing the right equipment, and following efficient leveling routes, you’ll be able to unlock the full potential of your Ninja and smoothly transition into Kagerou or Oboro later on. Use this guide as your roadmap, but don’t be afraid to experiment with different builds and strategies as the true strength of a Ninja lies in adaptability. Good luck on your journey, and may your path be as sharp as your kunai!
