Introduction
Hunters is one of the two job paths an archer can progress to. Contrary to its 1st job, Hunters have multiple ways on how it can be played. Traditionally Hunters are played as long ranged dps that can kill their targets with their bows or falcons, but there is another build that defies this image, the Trapper build.
Foreword
This guide will cover mostly leveling guide for hunter/sniper trapper build.
Feel free to modify or improve the route on your own way.
This guide is not just limited to leveling but a few tips and tricks
If you’re a spender, some quality of life Cash shop items will help you on your journey. (will be mentioned in the guide)
For the leveling route, this is the author’s personal experience of using the build in solo leveling. If you have tried this build and has a better method, why are you reading this? jklol, alternatives are much appreciated when you see discussions about this build leveling path.
Mostly the guide will focus on solo leveling without an alt character, a true beginners guide. But will still include ways that slight boost in gameplay for veteran player that want to try this build.
Stats and Skill
Stats:
STR – Mostly for just carrying arrows, traps, and/or potions. (can be offset with Gym-Pass Cash Item). Also damage for 3rd job traps but will not be discussed on this guide
AGI – For Flee and ASPD, Trapper don’t use flee we be tanking like a chad bro. ASPD is nice for placing traps faster.
VIT – For survivability. Mostly put the rest of the excess stats here.
INT – SP, SP Regen, Trap Damage. Trapper’s Secondary Stat, Primary for 3rd job traps
DEX – Trap Damage, HIT. Trapper’s Main stat.
LUK – Perfect Dodge (More Useful at 3rd job Trappers)
Skills:

Very basic, just leave arrow shower at level 9.

You have an excess of 3 skill points you can place anywhere. Other Skill builds are available but for the sake of this guide it’s for the sake of progressing into a trap ranger. You can Reset your skill if you want to transition into a bow Ranger in the future.
Leveling Guide
Leveling from 1-10/15
Recently GGH introduced an event called LEVEL-UP BOX, (Read: https://ro.gnjoy.asia/news/detail.php?id=147). This box contains items that can improve your leveling significantly and help you get started.
Beginner’s area
When you enter for the first time and opening your inventory (Alt+E), you will see this box.

Opening it will give you equipment and consumables that will help you on your leveling. Because of this leveling as a novice became easier and you can equip these items at level 1. (Shown)

At this point you have 2 options: Finish the Criatura guide, https://ro.gnjoy.asia/gameguide/ and some mini quest in izlude, or Grind monster until you reach base level 10 and job level 10 to job change into an archer. I prefer doing the Izlude route because it gives some starting consumables and you land at level 15 more or less after you do it.
You can now Job change into an Archer.
Leveling 15-20
Before Grinding, First head for Eden. You can locate it via this NPC:

Register and get your Eden badge for free.
Once you have changed job and got you eden mark you can now start grinding.
Payon Field 08 – Strawberry Kingdom
Target Monsters = Spore, Boa, Stem Worm
Leveling 21-30
Payon Field 07 – Get lucky or Get poopy
Target Monsters = Big Foot, Caramel, Creamy, Stainer
Prefer to place all your stats in dex until you have 50, and max Double Strafe first then Vulture’s Eyes and Owl’s Eye. Use Fire Arrows.
Leveling 31-40 (Optional, for spenders) Morroc Field 03 – Aim Training
Target Monster: Wolf
Ignore Monsters: Argos, Steel Chonchon
Tip: If you are using Almighty Buff and/or already have gears and supply (SP restoration items), it’s preferred to do this before going to orc village especially soloing. Use your double strafe coupled with fire arrows and it’s good to go.
Geffen Field 10 – They got the whole family involved
Target Monsters: Orc baby, Orc Warrior, Orc Lady
Ignore Monster: Orc Lord (Seriously bro this a MVP. RUN!)
Tip: Use Fire arrows and bring hp recovery potions
Leveling 41-50
Orc Dungeon 01 – Orcs but undead and slower
Target Mobs: Orc Zombie, Orc Skeleton, Steel Chonchon
Tip: If you see a big group of monsters, Use Arrow Shower. Use Fire or Silver Arrows
Payon Field 10 – Creek!, I see a big trunk.
Target Monsters: Greatest General, Beetle King, Savage
Ignore Monster: Edgga (MVP)
Tip: Use your full max range to not get in range of the blind attack and cold bolt from greatest general. Don’t attack a beetle king when there are multiple in your screen, they have the ASSIST AI which will make all the beetle kings attack you. Use Fire Arrows for savage and beetle king and Crystal Arrows for Greatest General.
Leveling 51-65
Orc Dungeon 02 – Orcs again?
Target Monsters: Orc Skeleton, Zenorc, Steel chonchon
Ignore Monsters: Orc Archer (Exp gap)
Tip: Use Fire or Silver Arrows
Morroc Field 17 – Worms and a lot of sand
Target Monsters: Hode, Sandman, Frilldora
Ignore Monster: Phreeoni (MVP)
At this point don’t forget to do the Instructor Boya’s questline in Eden for the free Paradise Gears. It’s recommended to do the 50-59 cause it’s the easiest one. Don’t Forget to enchant your hat into either int or dex.

Job Changing into Hunter: https://ro.gnjoy.asia/gameguide/?gg=4 It’s preferred to reach job 50 to skip the job change test, get all the skill points.
After changing job get some job levels by going back to orc dungeon 2 or morroc field 17, until you get 5 points on claymore trap.

At level 66 you should have
35 int and 90 dex, the rest are at 1. You can now pump your next stats into int until you get base int 70 (Will explain later)
Once you got your stats and claymore trap level up you can now start leveling again.
Leveling 66-80
Yuno Field 12 – Man these plants. . .
Target Monsters: Geographer, Mantis
Tips: Fire arrows. Pushing claymore trap with arrow shower. (Tips and Tricks Discussion)
Yuno Field 06 – Are these sleeping powder or what?
Target monsters: Sleeper
Tip: Use Claymore Trap, sleepers have defender skill which will make then tankier from long range damage.
Leveling 80-90
Einbroch Field 05 – Gas, Gas, Gas
Target Monsters: Noxious, Venomous, Pitman, Demon Pungus, Teddy Bear
Tip: use Claymore Trap for bigger sprite/hit box
Rachel Field 12 – Where is simba? The hyenas are out.
Target Monsters – Roween, Anopheles
Tip: Use Land Mine both are wind property
At this point you can do the Instructor UR quest line in Eden for the free enchantable Eden gears.

Leveling 90-99
Rachel Field 01 – Desert Wolf Extermination
Target Monsters: Desert Wolf, Roween, Anopheles
Tip: Use Blast Mine on desert wolf because it is a fire 1 property monster where using land mine it only deals 90% of its damage while using blast mine deals 100% of the damage. At one point your damage will reach high enough that even land mine can one shot Desert wolf which will help so that you don’t need to think about swapping traps based on the mobs you are killing.
At level 95 you should have base 90 int and 99 dex, you can choose either get vit or pump more int if you can’t reach 105 int with bonuses.
Congratulations on reaching 99!
Rebirth Guide:

Once you’re done with rebirth, you start over again but this time with additional stats and higher exp requirement.
Hunter/Sniper Trap Damage Explanation
The damage for non 3rd job traps is as follows:
Damage = DEX * (3+LVL/100) × (1 + INT ÷ 35)] × Skill_Lv + 10%] × (1 + (Target × 8) ÷ 100) ÷ Target] × ElementMultiplier]
Dex is a major factor for the trap damage and is not diminished by any means, meanwhile int on the other hand has checkpoints you need to reach because in the formula int is floored. For example 104 total int will equate to (1+INT/35) = (1+104/35) = 3.97 floored to 3, while reaching 105 total int you will have (1+105/35) = 4 which will greatly increase you damage.
so the general rule is dex is the major damage component that isn’t tied hindered by anything, while int has checkpoints that are divisible by 35, example 35, 70, 105, 140 and is scaling.
Stat distribution comparisons:

Int will give more damage with less stat point if you can reach the checkpoint vs. stacking more dex.
General Tips
Gears:

Here’s an example starting gear for Trappers.
You should prioritize getting int and dex on gears because as said previously they are your main source trap damage. Eden Gears can be enchanted with stats so always aim for that.
Cash Shop:
GGH Ascendance has a small cash shop option for rangers, mostly they are used for just helping you go thru the leveling phase. I’ll give example of items you can buy from the cash shop as well as gacha gears that if you have the funds you can buy to help you on your trapper.

Almighty – Give +10 all stats and isn’t dispelled on death
Agi and Bless Scrolls – For people without Priest Support or True Soloist
Rental Combat Knife – Traps can proc the SP Leech because traps are considered as Melee Physical Damage

Rideword Hat – Arguably the best Headgear for trappers but it’s a gacha gear. Traps can proc it’s effect and most of the time will sustain your hp and sp.
Hunter/Sniper Techs
Skills Tips:

Improve Concentration, Falcon Eyes, and Wind Walker are you supportive skills that will help you greatly

Arrow Repel is a great tool to push monsters away from you when you are in a pinch, as seen below arrow repel is an instant cast skill that is dependent on your asdp.
Learn to use /skillsnap it will help you target mobs better while in combat
Arrow Shower is mainly used as a means to push the traps to a certain direction or disperse a large group of mobs. As shown below you can even stack traps and push them all at once.
Knowing the Monster AI:
When playing as a Trapper you must know how the mobs behave. Monsters don’t simply chase you mindlessly, monster AI will send the mob to the position they first saw you, for example below.
The desert wolf was a fresh spawn and first saw me at the left side, so the monster AI sent the mob to the left instead of chasing me upward.
Another example:
As you can see the monster AI directed the mob to the location where I was when it first saw me.
If you have enough practice you can trap multiple mobs in a short period of time.
And with that, the trapper hunter/sniper guide comes to an end, This guide will be updated once there are new things to add for 1-99 trans characters or new ways to level up.
