Introduction

The Dragon Breath Rune Knight is one of the most popular Rune Knight builds, even from the early days of Renewal. Dragon Breath scales with the caster’s current and maximum HP, and its damage is further enhanced by long-range physical damage modifiers. Interestingly, it calculates hard DEF as if it were soft DEF. The skill has two variants in the Rune Knight’s skill tree: Dragon’s Breath and Dragon Water Breath. To maximize its spam potential, this build requires high amounts of after-cast delay reduction, variable cast time reduction, and attack speed. Key equipment choices that boost its damage include Red Baby Dragon, Draconic Slayer, and Fafnir Breath.

Dragon’s Breath  

Commands the dragon to breathe fire. Targets within range will take Fire Element damage and be inflicted based on caster’s Condition. 

Dragon’s Water Breath

Deals water elemental damage with your dragon’s breath, which may cause [Freezing] Status or Slows down the enemy, The damage depends on the rider’s stats.

Take note that the damage of both Dragon’s Breath is affected by how high your HP and SP is. Range damage modifiers also boost its damage.

Dragon Training

Decreases the attack speed penalty from riding a dragon and increases the maximum weight limit and Dragon’s Breath damage.

You cannot cast Dragon’s Breath without riding a dragon. So, you need a dragon.
This also allows you to ignore size penalties when wearing a spear weapon.
