Ranger Leveling Guide

Introduction

Welcome to the Ranger Leveling Guide, citizens of Midgard, the ultimate guide for leveling up your Ranger in Ragnarok Online. This guide will help enhance your leveling experience. We will cover everything you need to know to level up efficiently, including the best stat builds, gear, and strategies for taking down even the toughest monsters.

Note: This guide will focus on the FAS build for Rangers. For more information, refer to Taki’s guide.

Why Focused Arrow Strike (FAS) build for leveling?

There are several advantages to using the FAS build for leveling compared to the Arrow Storm build. First, FAS uses less SP, only 30 SP per cast, while Arrow Storm uses 48 SP. Additionally, FAS has a shorter casting time, with a Fixed Cast Time (FCT) of 0.5 seconds and a Variable Cast Time (VCT) of 0.5 seconds. In contrast, Arrow Storm currently has a VCT of 3.8 seconds and a cooldown (CD) of 3.2 seconds. Both FAS and Arrow Storm are area-of-effect (AoE) skills, but FAS has a cone-shaped AoE, while Arrow Storm affects an area of 11×11 cells. While you can use both skills, this guide focuses on the FAS skill and follows Taki’s guide for the FAS build.

Reaching Ranger

Here is a sample build for Snipers before changing jobs to Ranger. There are similarities between the Auto Blitz build for Snipers and the FAS build for Rangers. You can either focus on the Auto Blitz build as a Sniper and then transition to the FAS build as a Ranger, as the Auto Blitz build does not outdamage the FAS build if the Ranger is properly geared.

Things to consider for Efficient Leveling:

1. Gear for Leveling using Focused Arrow Strike(sharpshooting)
2. Mobility
3. HP/SP sustainability

Items to Consider

Bow & Fixed Cast Time Reduction

Bow First of all, your weapon, bow, should deal a decent amount of damage. This may range from Bow from the new user box, Elven Bow to Crimson Bow.  Fixed Cast Time reduction for FAS There are several items that can reduce the FCT of FAS. Some of these items include: Temporal Dex Boots Max HP +300, Max SP +30. For every 3 refine level, additional Max HP +100, Max SP +10, DEX +3. If pure DEX is 120 or above, decrease fixed cast time by 0.5 seconds, increase ranged physical damage by 5%. Sniper Mid Enchant [Focused Arrow Strike] fixed cast time -0.5 seconds Fixed Cast Reduction Stone Fixed cast time -0.5 seconds.

Mobility
Mobility will help you move faster across the map and defeat many monsters in seconds. The following items and/or skills can assist with this: Unlimited Fly Wings World Teleport Ticket Creamy Card (Enables Lv 1 Teleport)
Skills Warg Ride MAX Lv: 3 Skill Requirement: Warg Mastery 1 Skill Form: Active / Special Description: Allows a Ranger to mount their summoned Warg. Skill level increases movement speed. While mounted on a Warg, you can’t use any bow attacks or skills that are not Warg exclusive other than trap skills. Can use the following traps while on a warg: Cobalt Trap, Magenta Trap, Verdure Trap, Maze Trap, Electric Shocker. Wind Walk. MAX Lv: 10 Skill Requirement: Improve Concentration 9 Skill Form: Supportive Description: Increase the Movement Speed and Flee Rate of the caster and Party Members. However, Movement Speed will not be increased if a similar effect, such as Increase AGI, has already been cast. Skills which decrease Movement Speed, such as Quagmire, cancel the Movement Speed increase from Wind Walker.

HP/SP Sustain
These items will help you grind longer. Here are some consumables and gear that will help you stay longer in battle. Consumables: Life Potions These will recover a percentage of your Max HP per 5 seconds in 10 minutes. Mana Potions These will recover a percentage of your Max SP per 5 seconds in 10 minutes. White Potions Restores about 325 HP. These may be helpful but might require having a high STR stat or the Enlarge Weight Limit skill, as they can be quite heavy in bulk. Scatleton Egg and Delicious Fish Delicious Fish recovers a significant amount of HP, if Scatleton Egg is incubated. Blue Herb Recovers a certain amount of SP. Requires having a high STR stat or the Enlarge Weight Limit skill, as they can be quite heavy in bulk.
Equipment Catherine Von Blood [1] Restore 500 HP and 50 SP upon defeating monsters with physical or magic attack. Equip with Cute Pet [Succubus], For every 5 seconds, restore 500 HP and 20 SP. if intimacy of [Succubus] is [Loyal], For every 5 seconds, restore additional 500 HP and 20 SP. HP -5000, SP -500 upon unequipping the item. Rideword Hat [1] Has a 5% chance to recover 8% of your damage as HP, when dealing physical attack. ———- Has a 1% chance to recover 4% of your damage as SP, when dealing physical attack. ———- Drains 10 HP every 5 seconds while equipped. Cursed Book [1] A cursed book that can absorb life. Has 4% chance to absorb 4% of physical damage dealt to enemy as HP. (For every 2 refine level, increase absorb rate by 1%) Has 1% chance to absorb 1% of physical damage dealt to enemy as SP. (For every 3 refine level, increase absorb rate by 1%) HP would be drained per 5 seconds depending on refine level. Thanos Bow [1] MATK +110, INT +6, VIT +6, LUK -6. When dealing physical attack, has a low chance of regaining 5% of your damage as HP and SP. Consumes 100 HP every 10 seconds. Consumes 1,000 HP when unequipped. Evil Dragon Armor [1] If refine level is +8, has a chance to absorb HP by 3% and SP by 2% of physical damage dealt. If refine level is +9, has a chance to absorb HP by 4% and SP by 3% of physical damage dealt. If refine level is +10 or above, has a chance to absorb HP by 6% and SP by 5% of physical damage dealt. Caution – Equip with Rideword Hat or Vanargandr Helm or Piece of Angent Skin, the absorb effect will be removed. Hunter Fly Card Enables a 3% chance of gaining 15% of the damage inflicted on an enemy as HP with each attack.

You can also purchase the Premium Buff Box. This will increase your experience gained from killing monsters, and the experience boost will also apply to bounties. ROGGH occasionally gives out free Premium Boxes through daily sign-ins and events. Server experience boosts will also help you level up your Ranger faster. The Gym Pass is also beneficial if you prefer using HP/SP consumables instead of investing in HP/SP sustain gear.

Note: The items and skills listed above are not required to have all of them. You can choose the gear and skills that best complement your playstyle for leveling.

Experience Gain Penalties

ROGGH has experience gain penalties. Depending on your level and the mob’s level, there will be penalties. This means that if the mob’s level is significantly higher or lower than yours, you will receive an experience penalty. See the table below for the experience penalties.

World Bounty Leveling

World Bounty Leveling is repeatable as long as you have Boong Boong Drinks for the Boong Boong machine. The World Bounty maps are listed below. For this guide, we will focus on levels 100 and above.
