Royal Guard Alternate Sprite from jRO
Overview
The Royal Guard, or RG, is an order formed under King Von Schmidtz of Glast Heim, created to protect Midgard from chaos and any future evil that might rise.
They now come equipped with a mix of hard-hitting offensive skills and strong support abilities, making them a solid frontline class in all parts of the game. Their Sacrifice playstyle is still a reliable way to support party members and hasn’t lost its place over time.

Builds
Vanishing &
Cannon Spear Build
This build focuses on spamming Vanishing Point while using Cannon Spear whenever it’s off cooldown. Achieving 193 ASPD is essential for maximizing your DPS output.
To further boost your damage, stack ranged modifiers, flat ATK, and ATK%. These directly affect the performance of both skills.
Pairing a high base defense shield with Shield Spell Level 1 gives a solid ATK boost that helps increase your overall damage.
Key equipment like the Fallen Protect Manteau [1],
Awakened Aquatic Spear [2], and the Vanishing Cannon Set significantly improve the damage of both Vanishing Point and Cannon Spear, making them essential picks for this build.

Royal Guard Shadow Weapon & Vanishing Cannon Set
Pure Cannon Spear
Thanks to new gear, Royal Guards can now spam Cannon Spear with 0 cooldown. No need to wait for EDDA: Biolabs. You can cast the skill non-stop, as fast as your animation and cast time allow.
Right now, Cannon Spear doesn’t crit, so there’s no need to build around critical stats yet. That will change with the upcoming Royal Guard rework.
Cannon Spear currently has a 2-second cooldown. To achieve a 0-cooldown setup, you’ll need at least 3 of the following key items
Fallen Protect Manteau [1] & +11
Old Crown of Protection [1] (0.5 CD reduction)
- +9
Vanishing Cannon Shadow Shoes (0.5 CD reduction)
Paladin Stone(Middle) +
Royal Guard Stone(Garment) (0.5 CD reduction)
Guardian’s Shield [1] (1 CD reduction)
These completely remove the skill’s cooldown.
Just like Vanishing Point, you’ll need high attack speed (ASPD) to spam Cannon Spear efficiently. The faster your ASPD, the smoother and faster your skill animation will be.
For stronger damage, focus on:
- High STR – directly boosts Cannon Spear’s damage through its formula:
Damage (ATK) = [{Base Damage + (STR × Skill Level)} × (Base Level ÷ 100)]% - Ranged damage modifiers
- Flat ATK and ATK% increases
This build is all about spamming Cannon Spear fast and hard. Just be mindful of your SP, since the skill can drain it quickly with constant use.
Key Equipment:
Guardian’s Shield [1]
Royal Guard Shadow Weapon & Vanishing Cannon Set
Fallen Protect Manteau [1]
Aquatic Spear [2] /
Awakened Aquatic Spear [2]
Megingjard
Nameless Swordsman Boots [1]
Earth Drive &
Over Brand
This is a viable build for Royal Guards, made possible by the introduction of Shield Rings. Equipping two of them removes Earth Drive’s cooldown and gives a total of 60% after-cast delay reduction (30% per ring), making it possible to weave in Overbrand if you choose to.
To spam Earth Drive and Overbrand efficiently, you’ll need to hit 193 ASPD and stack enough after-cast delay reduction.

Circlet Of Phoenix

Exceed Break
Exceed Break is a popular skill for WoE, where it truly excels. While it can be useful in PvM, its strength lies in WoE scenarios, especially when paired with Devotion to support party members. It works effectively as ground control and supports your guild’s main stack, though it’s no longer as popular in the GGH WoE scene due to the presence of 100% player damage reductions.

Critical Stone (Middle),
Critical Stone (Upper)
Martyr’s Reckoning &
Devotion
Martyr’s Reckoning once dominated the WoE scene, thanks to the introduction of Noble Mask. Similar to its pre-renewal counterpart, this build requires achieving 193 ASPD and maintaining a high HP pool to deal massive damage. It is commonly paired with Sropho Cards for their Crystallization effect, ensuring a target’s demise if the effect procs.
This build also works well with Devotion due to its high HP, but if a Royal Guard opts to use it, some fixed cast time (FCT) reduction may be necessary for smoother execution.
Stat Build

DEX | 90 – 120 | For some ASPD, and cast time reduction |
LUK | 1~30 | LUK for status resistance |
Key Equipment
You’re looking for items that will improve Max HP, attack speed, and casting time.
Gloria Domini/
Genesis Ray
With the introduction of items that support Gloria Domini and Genesis Ray, a magic build for Royal Guard has emerged. Key items include Themis Helm, Awakened Light Blade, Royal Guard Stone Set II, and Avaricia Encyclopedia.
The core idea is to spam Gloria Domini as fast as possible by achieving high attack speed (193 preferred), low to instant cast time, and equipping Themis Helm, which enables a chance to autocast Genesis Ray when using Gloria Domini. The Avaricia Encyclopedia further enhances this build by providing a chance to autocast Level 5 Gloria Domini upon casting Gloria Domini, effectively allowing a double proc for even more consistent Genesis Ray triggers.

Themis Helmet [1]
Avaricia Encyclopedia [1]
Themis Libra [1]
Light Blade [2] &
Awakened Light Blade [2]
